How does the MLB 2k11 throwing meter work FOR Ps3?

Anyone get MLB 2K11 on PS3. The game actually isn't that bad besides for a few bugs which they seem to be fixing. Pitching and hitting is pretty solid. However can anyone tell me how the throw meter works when fielding routine ground ? I have overthrown 1B and sometimes 3B also all day yesterday until I figured they have a sensitive throw meter to throw runners out on ground . Anyone know how it works, because its not included in the instructional manual. Offline or online.
