If I have a magnet .25" away what is the formula to find field strength?

I need a formula or calculation that will tell me the magnetic field strength or gauss rating at different distances. There are some calculators on line like the one at this site(http://www.arnoldmagnetics.com/calc_gauss_cyl.aspx?id=4940) but I need the breakdown formula and can not find it
